The Truth About Easter

  1. Yes. Why does the Holy Spirit convict some about this and others not so much? I know the “argument” of Romans 14 always comes up~but the pagan holidays of easter and christ-mass was not what Paul was talking about as those 2 days were not even “practiced” then among the Christians…

    1. Or is it that the Holy Spirit is they just deny it? “Weaker” Christian? New Christians? I d not know BUT I do BELIEVE I have been convicted by God’s Holy Spirit and I have no desire to go back to it~can it be a struggle-especially when it comes to family? YES! But I have come to expect that and to KNOW Who gets me through ❤

      1. How patient the Holy Spirit!

Its understandable when its new Christians and weaker Christians but, still, we should expect them to grow in the knowledge of Him. Hard-headed, stiff-necked Christians who refuse to obey God are His to deal with. We warned as God would have us but it is He who will deal with their disobedience. Praises be to our Beloved that nothing is impossible with Him (us, yes, we cannot persuade them)! \o/

    2. You are right, Elizabeth. It wouldn’t even cross Paul’s mind to be speaking of pagan days since he knew that God had warned the Israelites about worshiping Him in the same manner as the heathen do their gods. Not only that, and even more importantly, Paul knew the anger of God on the Israelites who used such heathen practices to worship Him with! The golden calf made by Aaron and the golden calves set up by Jeroboam in Dan and Bethel were all an abomination to God and incurred His wrath. It would be irresponsible for Paul to teach that its OK to christianize pagan idols and practices. If he, or any Apostle did, wouldn’t Acts 19:19 be the time to say, “Wait! Don’t burn your books! You can baptize those scrolls and christianize those things written therein!” No, he said, eat the meat but don’t participate in the dedication ceremony of the pagans. Give thanks to God and then enjoy the meat that God created.

Christians who love the unauthorized pagan/papist “holy” days and see how their children love the day and say that it makes a great time to evangelize will not see the sin they are committing unless our Beloved opens the eyes of their understanding and give them a love for Him so deep that they won’t care what family, friends and churchmen say of their rejection of them.

Many Christians will even say that the meanings have changed or that there are no pagans in these days. But the Wiccans are today’s pagans and if a Christian’s celebration of God’s birth and Jesus’ resurrection has any of their practices among them, they are guilty before God for disobeying His command. Jesus did not redeem religious pagan traditions at the cross. Besides, its what God sees and says, not us, that matters.

I know I need not say these things to you, sis, but I say them for others who may read this. God bless you! \o/ ❤
