Prayer

Father, in Jesus Name I pray, please open the eyes of all of Your children to see that the paganism they’ve incorporated into their worship and honor of You is not pleasing in Your sight. Lead them in Your way and will and bring them back to Your old path of righteousness. If You would have us to speak up, give us the boldness and the words to speak. If You lead us out from among them then grant us the peace that comes from obeying You. Help us to find fellowship with like-minded believers who oppose the things You oppose and upholds the things You desire in our worship and honor of You. For Your kingdom, by Your power and for Your glory hear and answer our prayer, amen

Lord, will you deal with us according to your wisdom and prudence. Take out of us every evil and false way; any area in which we have deceived ourselves, remove. Anything which looks like growth in grace, which is mere puffing up, take away; anything which we prize, which is but counterfeit, utterly destroy.

And oh, bring us of your great love to know Christ in truth, that what we know we may know, and not think we know. And oh, that there might be a deep reality about our Christian experience, and knowledge; that the truth of God may be incarnate in the truth which lives in us.

Questions: If you set up the pagan Yule/ X Mass tree in the church because you don’t believe there is any harm to you and your fellow believers, will you stop the practice when a former Wiccan comes to Christ Jesus as her Savior and joins your church? Or will you wound her conscience and spoil her rewards from God by your selfishness in letting her believe that some of her Wiccan practices and tokens are OK for her to hold on to? In witnessing Christ before Wiccans, do you think they will see how set apart from them you are during the X Mass/Easter season? Or will they see you as imitating them (which is what you really are doing) and cause them to believe that Christianity is just another pagan-rooted religion?

Another question: Do you care if some of your members leave the church while you are celebrating the Yuletide season because it offends them?

Pretend for a moment that you and your family are the only ones in the world. Pretend you don’t have a TV or any history books from the world. All you have is a Bible. Without any influences from the world, you do your best to follow the Word of God. Based on that scenario, is it likely that you will be cutting a tree from the forest, decorating it with balls, and exchanging gifts on December 25th and saying it is for the celebration of the birth of Christ? Of course not because such silly tradition does not exist in the Bible and it would not even exist in your conscience and you would not even be inspired to imagine such a silly tradition. It is only through the impure minds of the heathens that such a tradition came about.

Therefore, if you do the Christmas celebration, you fully acknowledge that it is solely based on the world’s tradition. It is solely based on what MAN says to do, not God. If you want to continue Christmas celebration, then don’t be a hypocrite and say it’s for Jesus, because it’s not! It’s for the world. Admit you are a heathen and carry on your heathen ways, but don’t you dare put yourself in the same category as the most High and all His people.
