CHRISTIANS HAVE A CHOICE TO MAKE…

FTA: For decades* this Eastern-influenced moral relativistic metaphysical thought system has spread worldwide like gangrene. I think it’s safe to say that pretty much everyone has been influenced by Eastern mysticism in one way or another.

For more than 50 years now the New Age movement has reared its ugly head in the visible Church in ways you may find surprising. Inside many churches, shepherds have the sheep partaking in what Scripture deems sorcery, i.e. the magic arts, even though Scripture clearly teaches that God hates the ways of pagan cultures. In the Old Testament those who dabbled in practices that were expressly forbidden by The Creator were often destroyed by Him — every man woman and child. Gulp.

If you’re thinking “My God wouldn’t do that,” you’d be wrong. Think: The worldwide flood where God destroyed all living things that’s found in the book of Genesis.

25 Protestations Against Christmas

By Daniel Kok.

It is difficult for people to understand why some Christians do not celebrate Christmas. I offer the following as an explanation and defense of that position so that you can understand why that is:

25 Protestations against Christmas

1. The scriptures do not inform us of the date or season of our Lord’s birth.
2. Thus all attempts to date the birth of Christ are conjecture and cannot be substantiated from scripture.
3. Although many Christians celebrate Jesus’ birth on December 25, many Eastern Christians commemorate it on January 7 instead. Yet neither date has scriptural backing. The difference between the two dates is such as the apostle Paul would say “cause(s) disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith” (1 Timothy 1:4).
4. Therefore to say, as some do, that “Christ was born this day” or “today is Jesus’ birthday” is a bearing of false witness.
5. There is no record of the subsequent celebration or commemoration of His birth in the New Testament.
6. The scriptures do not command us to observe or otherwise commend to us the celebration of Christ’s birth.
7. Most importantly, the scriptures do not give the church the authority to institute holy days, days of custom or observance for the purpose of commemorating various events in scripture. For Christ’s church is only required and allowed to do as He directs her (Matthew 28:18ff.).

The Biblical Case Against Christmas – Pagan Idolatry Baptized by Catholicism

This teaching proves from the Bible that God does not accept worship that is based on a lie, that is of the world, and is mixed with heathen idolatry. We examine and refute common arguments used to justify Christmas like “Jesus knows what’s in my heart” and using Christmas to evangelize.

God Has Not Made Two Sets of Truth

by C.H. Spurgeon, from his sermon, The Plea of Faith

The errors of this present age have sprung from a non-reading of the Bible. Do you think, my brethren, that if we all read the Scriptures with judgment, and desired to know them rightly, there would be so many sects as there are? Heresies and schisms have sprung from this; one man has gone a little astray upon a point; another man, without referring to Scripture, has endorsed all he has said; another one has added something else to it; and then another one, being cunning, full of subtlety of the devil, has twisted passages of Scripture, and has woven them into a system, which has been fashioned in the first place by mistake, has accumulated and become more colossal by sundry other mistakes which naturally accrued to it, and at last has been perfected by the craft of designing heretics.

…We differ in various doctrines, and therefore some of us must be wrong, if we hold doctrines which are directly hostile to each other. But we are told, “It does not signify; doubtless, you are all right.” Now, I cannot see that. If I say one thing, and another man says another, how, by all that is holy, can both speak the truth? Shall black and white be the same colour? Shall falsehood and truth be the same? When they shall be, and fire shall sleep in the same cradle with the waves of the ocean, then shall we agree to amalgamate ourselves with those who deny our doctrines, or speak evil of what we believe to be the gospel. My brethren, no man has any right to absolve your judgment from allegiance to God; there is liberty of conscience between man and man, but there is none between God and man. No man has a right to believe what he likes; he is to believe what God tells him; and if he does not believe that though he is not responsible to man, or to any set of men, or to any government, yet mark you, he is responsible to God. I beseech you, therefore, if you would avoid heresies, and bring the church to a glorious union, read the Scriptures. Read not so much man’s comments, or man’s books, but read the Scriptures, and keep your faith on this,-“God has said it.” If you cannot make all God’s truths agree yet remember God has not made two sets of truth opposite to each other; that were an impossibility which even God himself could not accomplish mighty though he be. My brethren, always stand by what God has said, and do not be turned aside from it by all the arguments that can be brought to bear against you. “Search the Scriptures, for they testify of Christ.”
