The Blasphemous Santa

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I’m telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He’s making a list,
Checking it twice,
Gonna find out who’s naughty or nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you’re sleeping
He knows when you’re awake
He knows if you’ve been bad or good
So be good for goodness’ sake

Santa is given the traits of God through this song, written by John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie. Only God is omnipresent and omniscient. Many Christians believe he came from Christianity and, yes, they confess he comes from Roman Catholicism. They say he was a generous man caring about the poor children in his time. I’m fine with whatever you want to believe about ol’ Saint Nick but it is blasphemy for him to have the characteristics of the Almighty, Most Holy, God. I am not fine with pastors and children’s/youth teachers dressing up as Santa and children singing this song in pageants all in the name of Jesus Christ.
