You Want to Spread the Gospel Through X Mass?… Really?

Just a note: I do not know if Michael Youssef celebrates X Mass or not, but the quote fits.

This Mingling…

The mingling of that which is of God with that which is of man is a special form of evil, and a very effectual engine, in Satan’s hand, for marring the testimony of Christ on the earth. This mingling may frequently wear the appearance of something very desirable; it may often look like a wider promulgation of that which is of God—a fuller and a more vigorous outgoing of a divine influence—a something to be rejoiced in rather than to be deplored: but our judgment as to this will depend entirely upon the point of view from which we contemplate it. If we look at it in the light of God’s presence, we cannot possibly imagine that an advantage is gained when the people of God mingle themselves with the children of this world, or when the truth of God is corrupted by human admixture. Such is not the divine method of promulgating truth, or of advancing the interests of those who ought to occupy the place of witnesses for Him on the earth. Separation from all evil is God’s principle; and this principle can never be infringed without serious damage to the truth. …Satan’s first effort was to frustrate God’s purpose by putting the holy seed to death; and when that failed, he sought to gain his end by corrupting it.

The Holiness of God – Leonard Ravenhill

Definition and short study on the term of Biblical Holiness.

Don’t Forget This

What Hast Thou to Do with Them?

Put away all of your Christo-pagan rituals, traditions of men, and pagan/papist “holy” days such as Christ-Mass and Easter. You don’t need them; the world doesn’t need you to celebrate them for a witness to Christ Jesus and most of all it is an abomination in God’s sight making your worship of Him vain. You don’t belong in Egypt…

“And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor?”-Jeremiah 2:18

By sundry miracles, by divers mercies, by strange deliverances Jehovah had proved Himself to be worthy of Israel’s trust. Yet they broke down the hedges with which God had enclosed them as a sacred garden; they forsook their own true and living God, and followed after false gods. Constantly did the Lord reprove them for this infatuation, and our text contains one instance of God’s expostulating with them, “What hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of the muddy river?”-for so it may be translated. “Why dost thou wander afar and leave thine own cool stream from Lebanon? Why dost thou forsake Jerusalem to turn aside to Noph and to Tahapanes? Why art thou so strangely set on mischief, that thou canst not be content…

God Has Joined Holiness and Truth Together

Sherry's avatarHe Hath Said

I have given them Thy Word…Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy Word is truth. – John 17:14,17

No holy life will be produced in us by the belief of falsehood. Sanctification in visible character comes out of edification in the inner faith of the heart, or otherwise it is a mere shell. Good works are the fruit of true faith, and true faith is a sincere belief of the truth. Every truth leads towards holiness; every error of doctrine, directly or indirectly, leads to sin. A twist of the understanding will inevitably bring a contortion of the life sooner or later. The straight line of truth drawn on the heart will produce a direct course of gracious walking in the life. Do not imagine that you can live on spiritual carrion and yet be in fine moral health, or that you can drink down poisonous error and yet lift up…

Hold Fast the Truth

From Charles Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening

“Sanctify them through thy truth.” – John 17:17

An excerpt: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Do not say of any error, “It is a mere matter of opinion.” No man indulges an error of judgment, without sooner or later tolerating an error in practice. Hold fast the truth, for by so holding the truth shall you be sanctified by the Spirit of God.
